Eveline

Summary: In James Joyces short accost Eveline a young girl sits in her home and reflects upon her puerility growing up. As she ponders about her past, Eveline continually battles back and by in her head her domesticated duties as a alter woman and the possibility of an exciting future. She is faced with a predicament: any stay with her abusive father and fulfill her duties as a female child, or part Dublin with her fan plainspoken. He complimentss her to draw him and live with him in Buenos Ayres, and she already agrees to abdicate with him in secret. However, her thoughts go back to a promise she make to her give when she was lull alive; to dedicate herself to maintaining the home. She then remembers her mothers unhappy and uneventful life, and her desire to go that same outcome and leave with andiron grows even more. She experiences an epiphany that she must leakage this life patronage of what others may say. However, at the docks in Dublin, Eveline waits in the crowd to jump on the ship with Frank. She suddenly becomes worried, overwhelmed and her irresoluteness on whether or non to leave Dublin returns. As the boat whistle blows, Frank pulls on her hand to lead her with him, only when Eveline resists. In a panic, she clutches the barrier as Frank is swept onto the ship. He continually shouts for her to come but Eveline trunk motionless, caught once once again between her desire to escape and her domestic duties at home. outline: Evelines Story reflects the difficulties that maturate when one holds on to the past, when face the future.
